1. What this site is

notdumb.today (“the site”) is a platform where registered users publish articles. The site does not write, edit or review those articles before they appear.

2. Disclaimer

  • We are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, any article, author or viewpoint on the site.
  • Every article is published solely by its user. The views expressed are the author’s own.
  • Articles may contain sensitive content, harsh or offensive viewpoints, opinions you strongly disagree with, and statements that are inaccurate or unverified.
  • Nothing on the site is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
  • You read and use the site at your own risk and discretion.

3. Terms of use

  • You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
  • You sign up with a Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You keep ownership of what you publish. By publishing, you give the site permission to store and display it, and you confirm that you wrote it or have the right to publish it.
  • You are responsible for what you publish.

4. Content policy

The site allows a wide range of opinion, including opinions many people dislike. These things are never allowed, and may be removed without notice:

  • Anything illegal, including sexual content involving minors, and content that sexually exploits or endangers anyone.
  • Threats, and calls for or glorification of violence against people.
  • Publishing other people’s private information (doxxing).
  • Copyright infringement, malware, scams and spam.
  • Impersonating other people or organisations.
  • Slurs. The site automatically rejects uploads and profile text that contain certain slurs.

The site may remove any article and ban any account at its sole discretion. The site is not obliged to monitor content, and a lack of removal is not an endorsement.

5. Anonymous publishing

If you publish anonymously, your username and name are not shown on the article or on your profile. This protects you from other readers only. The site’s administrators can see which account published every article, including anonymous ones, and may disclose that information if the law requires it or to deal with abuse.

6. Privacy

  • What we store: your Google account identifier and email address, the username, display name and bio you choose, the articles you publish, your votes, and reports you send.
  • Who sees it: your username, display name, bio and non-anonymous articles are public. Your email address and vote history are not shown to other readers. Administrators can see your email address.
  • Where it lives: data is stored with Google Firebase. Signing in is handled by Google and is subject to Google’s privacy policy.
  • Browser storage: your browser keeps your light/dark choice and a note that you accepted the content notice. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies of its own.
  • Deleting things: you can delete any of your articles from your account page at any time.

7. Reporting content

Use the Report button on any article to tell the administrators about illegal, abusive or infringing content. Reports are private.

8. No warranty, limited liability

The site is provided “as is” without promises that it will be available, accurate or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and its operators are not liable for articles published by users, or for any loss caused by using the site.

9. Changes

These terms may change. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
